| Ann Pettifor addresses Australia's progressive community |
|
Catalyst is pleased to make available the video address by Ann Pettifor to the Crunch Time: Australia’s Policy Future conference on 23rd April 2009. Ann is one of the co-authors of the Green New Deal and is the executive director of Advocacy International. She is a leading progressive economist who has worked extensively on the Jubilee 2000 campaign which saw the cancellation of $100bn debt owed by 42 countries. In this video Ann looks at the catalysts for the current global economic crisis and the lessons we can learn from our economic history. As the world faces climate change, peak oil and the economic crisis, Ann explains how, by drawing together the often disparate strands of the business community, environmentalists and the union movement we can create a pathway to a more secure and equitable future.
