Catalyst Australia and The Australia Institute are proud to present:
Money & Power: How much is too much in corporate Australia?
Friday 6th August 2010 WatersEdge Conference Centre 11 Hickson Rd, Walsh Bay, Sydney
More than a year on from the global financial crisis, the corporate sector still exerts tremendous influence over social and political life. Bank profits and fees continue on their upward trend, increases in executive salaries still outstrip those of average workers, and political and planning systems can be compromised by corporate cash.
This conference looks at the impact of corporate power across the spectrum of our financial and political institutions, on our environment and in workplaces.
Catalyst is pleased to make available a range of media for those who missed out on our event featuring Jeff Blodgett, Minnesota state campaign director for Barack Obama's Presidential campaign, and Executive Director of Wellstone Action.
Thanks to all those who came along to this packed out forum to hear Jeff's inspiring words about campaigning around progressive values.
The event was a rousing success which would not have been possible without the support of Catalyst's sponsors, members, and all those who came to hear Jeff speak.
Thanks also to the Chifley Research Centre for making the venue available, and to the LHMU NSW who sponsored Jeff’s visit to Australia.

Catalyst thanks The Australia Institute, The Centre for Policy Development, The Evatt Foundation, Per Capita, The Search Foundation and The Australian Fabians for their work in putting together this conference. CrunchTime brought together a wide range of speakers who looked at the future of progressive politics under the shadow of the global financial crisis. It was the first time that Australia's progressive think tanks had held a joint policy conference.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Catalyst forum Engaging with Labor in Power. The forum ran in Sydney and Melbourne and presented some outstanding speakers and ideas about how to achieve a progressive social and economic policy agenda under Labor.
The future of work is impacted by the global financial and environmental crises. This creates both enormous challenges and opportunities for the labour movement to lead an agenda that will reshape our productive industries so that they support quality jobs and sustainability for future generations.
You are invited to a Catalyst fringe event at the upcoming ACTU Congress. This event will feature four unionists to talk about how they are responding to climate change in their industries:

7.30am to 8.45am Tuesday 2nd June, 2009 in Plaza Level P2 at the Brisbane Convention Centre.
