Making the boom pay... If not now, when?
2011 Conference
Presented by The Australia Institute and Catalyst
Sydney, Thursday 8th September
As the world's appetite for Australia’s mineral resources continues to grow, questions are now being asked about how to better manage the boom. How do we unite the disparate strands of our economy? And how do we capture enough of our mineral wealth to create a future that is sustainable, equitable and people-focused?
This conference presents an outstanding group of local and international speakers to focus on ways to ensure the benefits of the boom flow through to all Australians, not just a lucky few.
Keynote speaker: Ann Pettifor, International finance expert from Advocacy UK will discuss global financial reform challenges and perspectives from the Eurozone.
Other speakers include: Julian Disney, Saul Eslake, Tony Maher, Ged Kearney, Jessica Irvine, Ed Husic, Paul Cleary and Richard Denniss.
